It has taken a few years to come up with our own traditions for this holiday, and now it is my favorite holiday!!! I absolutely love every minute of this day. I spent a ton of time last night doing cute star hairstyles in the girls hair. Luckily they stayed in overnight and looked great this morning. We started out with the neighborhood bike parade. The kids decorated their stuff last night so they were all ready to go! The parade ends at a circle in our neighborhood where we had a yummy pancake breakfast! We spent the afternoon at the Ericson's eating lunch and playing outside. Unfortunately it rained and was chilly so the slip 'n slide didn't last very long but it was still fun. We headed to the Sandy parade and had a blast. The kids loved tumbling down the street, throwing snaps, and talking to the officers riding by. The parade was fun until the wind and the rain hit. Such a bummer. We were all freezing and rushed to the cars at the end of the parade. Of course within half an hour the storm passed and it all calmed right down. We headed home to decide what to do bc we weren't sure if would be worth going back for the fireworks. i decided I would regret it if we didn't so we all got into warm pjs and went back to watch the fireworks. I'm so glad we did! The kids loved playing and dancing around, then the fireworks were great! Besides the weather it was a perfect day!
