Pregnancy Update

24 weeks and still feeling pretty good. The 2nd trimester is always the best...not sick anymore, not too big to be too uncomfortable. Hopefully this stage lasts for a while more!

Brewer Christmas/Dad's Bday

We got together on Saturday to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family as well as celebrate my dad's birthday. It was a lot of fun to hang out with everyone and exchange gifts, as if the kids didn't get enough of that on Christmas :)

Icicles

I finally got some energy to take the kids outside to play in the snow. Mostly, it was because I really needed to shovel the driveway. Of course our next door neighbor came over and snowblowed it as soon as he saw my pregnant body trying to shovel. We really need to get our snowblower going for the season...hint hint Josh. N-e way, the kids loved running through the snow and climbing up the piles from the snowplow. We tried to make a snowman, but the snow wasn't cooperating so the kids chowed down on some icicles instead.

Christmas

What a fun day we had!!! There is a chance I went a little overboard this year. Not so much overboard with the amount of money spent, but the amount of stuff we ended up with. For 3 months I have been on the computer day and night doing all my shopping. I have scored amazing deals on everything we got. Most of the big stuff was all used off KSL, but in such great condition and for such a great price it was worth it. There is no way we could have afforded all this fun stuff otherwise. I was able to get everything I wanted for the kids at a fraction of the cost. I wish I could tell all the stories of each item I was able to find online. It was amazing the deals I found. N-e way...back to Christmas. We are so used to having to go to a bunch of places, that it was fun this year to stay home for most of the day. Here are some before pics:
The kids woke up around 7:30 SO excited for Christmas. We were able to hold them off til 8:30 so we could sleep a little longer. We finally got up and headed downstairs.
Since we didn't wrap the big stuff, they kept running around the room seeing all the fun stuff and couldn't decide which to look at first. I bought the power wheels car off of KSL 2 1/2 months ago. Luckily, my neighbor stored it in her basement for me. It is in such great condition and the kids have LOVED it...eventhough it's too big to drive in the house.
Brynlee was funny bc she ended up having to open EVERY single present in her new car. It was pretty funny.
My parents didn't come visit us til later in the day, but I was too excited about this next gift to wait that long. So we were able to Facetime (Skype) on the ipads so my parents could watch the kids open this gift. They contributed to this gift for the kids. I also sold some old toys to help pay for it. So I only paid $20 out of pocket for it! I bought it from someone that bought it 1 yr ago and barely used it, so it is practically brand new. I looked for weeks and finally found one that is perfect in every way...price, size, with a slide, and it even has 2 bball hoops in it! This made my Christmas complete for the kids! They haven't stopped jumping on it:
When they got it open Brayden kept yelling, "it's a tent! It's a tent!" I was surprised he was so excited for a tent. Luckily, this was a little better than a tent.
After we enjoyed the morning just our little family, everyone started coming over. Josh's parents brought Grammy over to visit around 11:30 since she was going with another aunt for the rest of the day. Aaron and Rachael were both calling from their missions at noon, so we decided to have their family come to our house to all talk to them. While we were getting the Skype set up to talk to Rachael, about 12 more of Josh's extended family stopped in to visit Grammy since they live closer to us than the aunt that took her the rest of the day. So it was a full house! By 1:00ish Grammy left, as did the extended family. So it was just Josh's family talking to the missionaries. Aaron had an hour time limit, but Rachael ended up talking for 3 hrs!!! So it was 4 by the time they left. Here are a few pics from the afternoon:
 Skyping with Rachael:
Brynlee took a quick nap and woke up as my parents came over to visit us. We spent about 45 minutes with them then headed over to the Ericson's for the evening. This pic was showing my dad one of presents I got...a remote for my camera. It took him a minute to realize why my camera kept snapping pics when he walked into the kitchen.
Brynlee took a quick nap and woke up as my parents came over to visit us. We spent about 45 minutes with them then headed over to the Ericson's for the evening. We had a turkey dinner then opened more presents.
Such a fun Christmas! We made it home by 9:45 and put the kids to bed and collapsed on the couch. It was such a good day I wouldn't have changed a minute of it!

Christmas Eve

Since we have always had the Livingston Christmas party on Christmas Eve, this was the first year we were able to spend the evening just our little family. We invited Josh's parents over, but since they were helping take care of Josh's grandma, we headed over there so we could spend some time with Grammy. We had a super yummy lasagna that one of Josh's accounts gave us. After dinner we read a Nativity story and talked about the real reason we have Christmas. Then of course our new pajamas showed up at the door!
We went with the angry bird theme this year and the kids loved them! They especially loved the fun slippers they each got:

Christmas Eve Eve

The Sunday before Christmas was pretty busy and stressful for me. I am the choir director in our ward and this year I ended up writing the Christmas program that my choir did for sacrament meeting. I have been working on it for 3 months and have been pretty nervous all week about it. It turned out to be a great program and the spirit was very strong. My parents, my aunt and grandma, and Josh's mom all came to support me. I was so pleased with how it turned out and was very overwhelmed with emotion by the end. Before church I managed to snap a quick pic of the kids in their cute Christmas outfits.
After church we didn't have much time before we headed off to Josh's mom's house for the Livingston Christmas Eve dinner and pinata. We did it a day early this year. Dinner was great and it was a fun evening visiting with everyone. Here are all the great grandkids in their Sunday outfits:
All the grandkids and their spouses:
A much better pic of my kids in their Christmas outfits:
Brynlee didn't want to go near the pinata, but Brooklyn went at it.
Of course on Brayden's second swing the string broke and it dropped to the ground. So he ended up beating the thing until it cracked open. Such a fun tradition!

Big Brother To The Rescue

I don't know if it's just my kids, or all kids. But for some reason the smallest scratch can be deadly...in their minds. Brooklyn scratched her heel and I didn't think it warranted any attention, let alone a bandaid. But she was pretty insistent, so Brayden came to her aid and found a bandaid for her. It was really sweet.

Jr.Jazz

Brayden has been playing Jr. Jazz for a few weeks. I was finally able to go to one of his games. He is awesome. It's funny to watch him bc he is SO much more serious than everyone else. We are trying to teach him to pass, bc he is so good at shooting he just shoots...and scores. He is the littlest one on the team, but definitely the best one. (No...I'm not just saying that bc he is my kid. He is just really good.) For over 3 yrs Brayden has gone with Josh twice a week to Holladay to play basketball. He watches the guys play, then gets to play in between each of their games. So he is used to shooting on a 10 ft hoop, which means the 7 ft hoop here is super easy for him. Here he is in action:

Friend Christmas Party

We had some of our friends over for a Christmas party. It was a lot of fun. Josh and I did a pasta bar for dinner. The kids kept playing, and playing, and playing. We finally got everyone together for a fun picture of the kids. It's fun to see them growing up so fast!
We had the brilliant idea to do a toy exchange for the kids. Each kid (as you can see in the picture above) has a buddy their same age and even gender! So each kid brought one of their toys to trade with their buddy. The kids loved it and it was fun getting new toys. The adults then did a white elephant exchange. Overall it was a lot of fun to see everyone and hang out while the kids played.

Puppies

The kids STILL love to be puppies once in a while. They will get out bowls of water and drink from them. Crazy kids!

Ward Christmas Party

We had a fun ward Christmas party this year. It was in the morning with a yummy pancake breakfast. Josh took Brayden to his bball game so they were a little late.
After breakfast we sang a few Christmas songs. Then it was time for Santa! We were at the end of the line, but the kids didn't mind waiting. Brayden was excited to hop on his lap and tell him what he wanted.
Brooklyn was really sweet and laughed a lot with Santa:
Brynlee, of course, was not a fan again this year. That's ok...we expected that. But it didn't hold us back from forcing her on his lap for a picture.
She calmed right down as soon as she got to pick a treat.
