Holidays just keep getting to be more fun as the kids get older. I love how excited they get as they count down the days till it's here. This year the kids have been SO excited with all the pre-Halloween activities, and Halloween didn't disappoint! We got up early to get all the face painting done and got the kids to school. I headed over shortly after with the girls for the big school parade! Of course the girls brought their shopkins and barbies to play with while we waited for it to start. The kids looked great! I held the kids off as long as I could in the evening then we finally were reading for trick-or-treating! Of course I made the kids take a ton of pictures first, which included waiting for the 2 yr old meltdown to pass. But we finally headed out and had a blast! We ended slightly early so we could run over to Josh's parent's house to surprise them with a quick visit.
Side story...Josh and I both enjoy taking the kids around the neighborhood so we always leave a giant bowl of candy on the doorstep with a note asking kids to only take 2 pieces. I kept an eye on our security camera and ended up seeing 3 older girls taking ALL our candy. So of course I yelled at them through the camera and they took off. I was not ok with that, so I decided to run home and try and catch them. Of course we were on the other side of the neighborhood, so I had to run about 3/4 of a mile to get to our street but I easily found them a few houses down. They were18 yrs old and I let definitely gave them a piece of my mind. Then I made them walk back to my house and put handfuls of candy back in our bowl. It was pretty awesome...my story made it's way through the neighborhood within a day or two and I became the candy-saving-hero. Lol
