Easter Egg Roll

On Sunday we had my family over to our house for dinner. I made Cafe Rio pork burritos for the first time and they turned out great. Every year that I can remember we have done an Easter Egg Roll with my family. We decided to do it a week early just in case we can't all get together next week. Brayden and I spent the afternoon coloring and decorating our monster eggs (Josh was hometeaching of course :) I think they turned out pretty cute:

And of course the kids got in on some of the action this year. Of course Brayden had issues b/c he WANTED his egg to crack and it wouldn't, even rolling it against some of the adults. I finally grabbed it and smashed it with my fingers after it hit one of the other eggs. Here's Brayden and Paige:

Brooklyn did quite get the rolling of the egg, so she just threw it at Brayden. You can see it about to hit Brayden in the head:

St. Patrick's Day

For a couple of days I've been talking to Brayden about leprechauns, rainbows, etc. He doesn't quite get it, but we still had fun. We started the day with green german pancakes. They don't look very appetizing, but the kids loved them.

After breakfast we did some fun activities I found on the internet. After naps we headed down to Orem to celebrate Ali's b-day. Dinner was yummy and we had a great time. Here are pics of all the cousins:

Disney On Ice

Nick and Kesha had the brilliant idea to take the kids to Disney on Ice. Josh has been when he was little, but I've never been before. We had awesome seats and loved every minute of it. We've been watching the Lion King lately to get ready for it. Brayden was glued to every minute of it. Of course his favorite was Simba, but he also liked Tinkerbell and Mickey. Here they are completely enthralled in the performance:

Brooklyn did not do so well. She was good toward the beginning, but the second half was horrible. She won't even sit at home to watch a show, so we weren't sure that she would last long. As soon as bed time hit, she couldn't calm down and was very restless. Luckily it was pretty loud so no one was bothered by her screams. Here she is during 5 of the good minutes while I gave her a sucker:

Our little family. I have to admit as soon as we sat down I started choking up a bit as I had one of those moments of overwhelming love for Josh and our kids and they are enjoying life as a family. It's so fun that they are getting older and we can start doing things like this together.

Discovery Gateway Museum

We LOVE going to the museum downtown. Brayden is always asking to go, so I finally arranged another play day there. We met up with my college roommate Monica and her little girl Elise. There were quite a few field trips that came through, but overall we had a wonderful time. Here's Brayden and Elise playing with the ping pong balls in the water:
All Brooklyn did for the first hour was carry around this flower. She was nervous with so many kids around. She finally did start playing with everything though.

Brooklyn LOVES the ball area, as does Brayden of course. This is the first time she figured out how to do it all by herself and she laughed everytime she opened the thing up and the air hit her face:

1-2-3 Go To Sleep!

Brayden has a new game...you say "1-2-3 go to sleep!" and hurry and fall asleep, wherever you are. The other day he decided he was tired so hopped into Brooklyn's crib, which of course she had to get in with him, and they "took a nap." Brooklyn wasn't quite catching onto the game as she just kept laughing and giggling.

NickelCade

We have been promising Brayden for a while that we would take him back to NickelCade. It is literally heaven on earth for him. We went with our friends Nick and Kesha and their boys Boston and Easton. Here are the boys racing cars:

Brayden really loves skeeball and spent a lot of his time there. He also loved goin high in the little helicopter. By the end of the night he finally figured out how he got to shoot hoops - he pushed a chair over and climbed on up. I love the bottom right picture of him doing what he loves!

Brooklyn wasn't a fan of the games, but she LOVED the little rides. That's all she wanted to do all night.

Toward the end we let the kids play air hockey, thinking they would get bored quick. Nope! They loved it and didn't want to stop. After Brooklyn was done I ended up playing w/ Brayden until we had to go. Thanks Nick and Kesha for a great night!
