Grandma Helen

My grandma Pendleton was diagnosed with uterine caner 6 weeks ago. We couldn't believe how quickly she went downhill and passed away. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit her and spend some time with her. It was really hard to see her and say goodbye. Her funeral was lovely and was such a great tribute to her life. I was asked to play the piano and put together a medley of Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, and God Be With Me Until We Meet Again. We took all the kids to the viewing, but left Brielle with a babysitter for the funeral. I was too worried she would be a handful during the funeral and I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. After the funeral I ran back and brought her to the luncheon. It was a great service and a beautiful day.

Slip n Slide

We were outside practicing our tumbling when Brielle decided to start a water fight. Next thing we knew the mat was wet and slippery so it became a slip n slide! They had a lot of fun!

Brooklyn's Talent Show

Brooklyn had her class talent show. She showed some of her tumbling moves...cartwheel, back walkover, splits, back handspring, and round-off back handspring! She did great!!! I recorded it so I didn't get any pics.

Father's Day

We had a busy but enjoyable Father's Day. Our morning was typical and we tried to keep it quiet so Josh could sleep in and enjoy it. After church the 2 little ones had naps then we headed to my grandparent's house. We met up with my parents so it was nice to be able to see them all.
Because I was battling meningitis on Mother's Day we didn't have anything to give our moms so we made sure to get them Mother's Day gift as well.
We headed back home to get ready to have the Ericson's over for dinner. We quickly gave Josh his gifts. Each kid picked out a special date that they get to go on...Brayden gave Josh a gift card to see Jurassic World, Brooklyn wants to take him swimming and for ice cream, and Brynlee wanted to go to Chuck-e-Cheese.

We wanted to do something different than our typical bbq, so we did shish-kabobs. They were SO good!

Projects...

Because we are year round school, the kids only get a 3 week break. So we rushed to get some projects done as soon as they were out of school. In the process of cleaning out the toy room we found a couple of boxes of stuffed animals. The kids were in heaven!
This is by far the best thing I've done in a while. This room has always been kind of dead space. When we rented out the basement we used it as our toy room, but after we moved the toys downstairs we haven't really done anything with it. Knowing that we will be here for another year or two, I decided to make it functional again...even if it's weird to have it be a toy room. The younger girls just don't go downstairs in the basement by themselves to play. But since I moved some of their toys upstairs they spend all day in there! Which is a big big help for me. So it's a win-win!

The Bumbo

This little girl wants to grow up faster than she is. She insists on sitting up so she can see everything...which is great until I need to put her down so I can get stuff done. She does NOT like to be put down. I finally got out our bumbo and she loves it. She can't stay in it very long yet since she's only 3 months, but it buys me a few minutes! (And yes...I'm aware of the dangers of putting a bumbo on the counter. I was just wanting a better picture in the light.
