Filling the Pool!

We have been waiting for this day for a very long time. We have stared at the hole in the ground for almost a year imaging what it will be like to swim in the backyard. Well finally we were able to get the fence and concrete finished in the backyard so they could finish and fill the pool. Of course it happened the day before we leave for Florida, so the 3 girls I won't be able to swim in it til we get back! It was fun for all of us to watch how they filled it with a fire hose. And although it was only 65 degrees when they finished that didn't stop the kids from swimming in it that evening. They grabbed their wet suits and jumped right in! By Sunday morning it had raised to 85 degrees so I snapped a couple of pics of the kids standing in the pool before we headed to the airport. Needless to say we are all excited to come back from Florida and jump in a nice warm pool!

 

Florida Send Off Party

I helped at the studio during the Florida send off party so I was able to snap some pics of the girls. They are getting SO excited to go and have been practicing all month to get ready for it!

 

Father’s Day

Father's Day is always an enjoyable day. Josh had meetings all morning so we just relaxed and enjoyed having 2:00 church as much as we could. My parents stopped by shortly after church and it was nice to visit with them. The Ericson's came over for dinner, but Steve left early so I wasn't able to get a pic with him. We sure are grateful for all these wonderful fathers we have in our lives!

 

Oakley’s Baptism

It is so fun to have cousins the same age. Brielle and Oakley have grown up together and they just love being together. We got to support Oakley as she decided to be baptized and it was a beautiful day for a beautiful girl!

 

Swimming at the Miller’s

We keep waiting and waiting for our pool to be done, but the girls were done waiting so we asked the Millers if we could swim in their pool for the afternoon. The girls played and played! I started teaching them how to back dive and Brynlee and Brielle caught on and are getting the hang of it!

 

Horsies

The girls love living by so many horses. They know them all by name and visit them frequently!

 

Brayden’s Bball Clinic

I told Brayden and Brooklyn they needed to earn some morey this summer. So we talked a lot about economics so they could understand the best and most efficient way to earn money. Brayden decided to do a basketball clinic and it was very successful! He had 15 total kids sign up in 2 age groups. We sent out flyers electronically through text and on social media. He learned things that went well and things he needs to change, and he learned that nine 6-8 yr olds are hard to keep engaged for 2 hrs! Lol I love that he analyzed what worked and didn't and will adapt when he does it again. He hopes to do it throughout the summer and even on Saturdays through the school year.

 

Brooklyn’s Kids Night Out

Brooklyn is very motivated to earn money bc she is a teenage girl and likes to spend money. So we brainstormed a bunch of different ideas and this is what we came up with. A kids night out! Rather than trying to do kids camps during the week she chose to do a Friday night for 3 hrs. She had 17 kids sign up!!! It kept her (and I) busy and she definitely learned a lot. She learned that she could do 20 girls easier than 5 boys Lol. We also learned that we will need to prepare more for the boy group next time. The girls loved the crafts that she planned and were very easy to manage. The boys, on the other hand, needed to go and go and go. They played in the gym a lot but we definitely needed some boy type activities for the to focus on like lego competitions and stuff like that. But it worked out great and Brooklyn made some good money to pay for the Lagoon pass she wants and also some spending money. But more importantly she enjoyed it enough and thought through it enough to be able to do it on a more consistent basis...she's thinking once a month throughout the year!

 

First Driving Lesson

I recently found out that learning how to drive is quite different than it used to be. I remember taking drivers ed before we got our permit, but now kids get their permit at age 15 and are required to drive 40 hours with their parents before they are allowed to take drivers ed in time to get their license at age 16. So I decided I needed to start helping Brayden get comfortable sitting behind the wheel. He was shocked when I told him to switch me seats...and he loved it! He caught on quick and did great for his first time!

 

Chalking it Up

These girls love all things colorful and crafty! They don't always remember that chalk is an option, but once they get going they don't stop. Brynlee's friend Delaney was over and they spent the evening out front coloring.

 

“Me” Time

I love seeing my kids play together, but I also love when they enjoy playing by themselves. I found both of these girls in their bedrooms playing games with their stuffed animals. Super cute!

 

Dance Meet and Greet

I helped put together the meet and greet for the dance studio to reveal their new dance teams. The girls are super excited for their new teams and can't wait to get started!!!
