This is Brooklyn's third, Brynlee's second, and Brielle's first dance convention of this season. Little Britney came with us and was dying that she didn't get to dance too (her first comp is next week). I decided to book a hotel room for the first night of this one so I didn't have to drive back and forth so much. The started with the team competition mixed with the solo competitions. All 3 girls did great! Brielle had a minor break down about 2 minutes before she was supposed to go on stage. She was the first solo from our studio and I think bc she didn't get to see anyone do it before her she got nervous of the unknown. But we were able to calm her down enough for her to go onstage and do a great job! We headed to the hotel after the competition part was over and relaxed for the evening until we all got together to listen to the awards they were streaming.
On Friday the girls all headed over to take their classes all day. I stuck around at the hotel with Britney for the morning, dropped off lunch for the girls, then Brit and I met up with a bunch of the moms for lunch. After lunch I headed home with Britney. The girls caught rides home after a long and exhausting day!
Saturday was another day full of classes. During these classes the girls are all evaluated and during one class they have auditions. At the end of the competition they give out scholarships for future conventions! Since we had carpools set up I was at home watching the awards that were being streamed. Brooklyn and Brynlee were in the junior group of 9-12 yr olds. There were about 200 girls in their group so it was very hard to get scholarships and they didn't give out too many. So I was shocked when Brooklyn won a half scholarship and Brynlee won a full scholarship! We couldn't believe it!
In the mini age group (8 and under) there were about 80 girls competing for scholarships. They started announcing the winners and as they got higher in the level of scholarship I lost more hope that Brielle would get one. Then they go to the big Apprentice award. They gave out 3 of them and it's the highest scholarship you can earn as a mini. They announced Brielle's name!!! I started freaking out (and feeling so horrible I was at home instead of their with Brielle to celebrate). I seriously couldn't believe it! This gives Brielle free tuition to any of their conventions for the next 2 years (each convention is about $260). SHe's also invited to compete against all the other Apprentices from all their conventions this year at their National convention in Florida in July. This is such a huge accomplishment and a once in a lifetime opportunity. Im already going to Florida with Brooklyn and Brynlee, so now Brielle gets to come too! It was fun to see all 3 of my girls get scholarships and they were all so happy for each other and for Brielle. What a weekend!
