Randomness

Since I'm trying to catch up on my blog, I thought I'd throw all these random pictures into the same post rather than doing a separate post for each of them. Here are Brayden and Brooklyn using their new umbrellas. They were SO excited when it started raining:

 I found all these cups on the floor. When I asked Brooklyn what she was doing, she replied that she was catching the ants that were on the kitchen floor. Awesome.

 Since I usually bathe all 3 kids at the same time, we haven't done too many tubs in the sink. I didn't want to fill the tub the other day, so I put Brynlee in the sink and she LOVED it! I sat on the stool next to her for about 25 minutes while she played and chewed on the kids food toys.

 My friend Trianna  has one of these seats for her little boy and loves it. I saw one at Kid 2 Kid the other day so I grabbed it, not knowing how much they are brand new. I figured $18 was a good deal. I got home and looked it up online and this seat sells for $18.54 at Walmart. Awesome. I would much rather have a brand new one for 50 cents more. So I called Kid 2 Kid to see if I could bring it back. They said yes, but only within 24 hrs. That was NOT going to happen since this was 2 days before our big trip. When I explained why, they apologized for mis-marking it, not realizing it was that cheap online. So they said they would credit my account $10!!! I was stoked to get this chair for only $8. Brynlee loves it and finally feels part of meal time with the kids at the bar.

Easter - Part 2

After the kids took a nap, we headed over to the Ericson's house to enjoy the evening. Kay was out of town so we missed her, but the kids still had a fun time looking for eggs.

 After they looked for eggs Rachel helped the kids dye some more eggs. Thanks for a fun Easter!!!



Easter - Part 1

Since we are not morning people, there was no way we were going to be able to do an Easter egg hunt before church. After church Josh dropped me off while he took the kids for a 5 minute drive so I could make sure the Easter bunny came. It was luckily warm enough outside to do the egg hunt since my house was such a disaster the kids never would've found the eggs. Here's the best picture I got of the kids before church:

 I was kinda lame this year and was NOT prepared for Easter to come. Maybe next year the Easter bunny will hide their baskets better.

 The kids got umbrellas and a bunch of other random stuff in their baskets.

 Looking for eggs:

 Like every little kid, they don't understand the concept of gathering the eggs, then opening them. Needless to say, the egg hunt took a while.

 Brynlee loved just hanging out.

 Since we moved into our house in the fall, I was pleasantly surprised to see 150 tulips blossom in the front yard!

Easter Eve

I decided to bring two huge bins of toys for the kids to play with, and it was a good thing I did. The kids loved playing with all the toys and it kept them busy for most of the evening.

 We sang to my mom and she opened some presents. Here are Brayden and Brooklyn helping open our present:

 The kids loved the egg roll. We did 2 kid rounds and 1 adult round. We usually do 2 or 3 adult rounds, but the kids were all pretty wired by now. Here's my dad helping Brayden:

Photo Shoot

The night before Easter we got together with my family for dinner, our annual Easter egg roll, and my mom's birthday. It was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed rolling the eggs. I had asked my dad if he would take pictures of the kids for Easter, so before dinner we had a little photo shoot. Brooklyn didn't cooperate at all, but we still managed to get a couple good pictures. Here are the best ones:

 

 

Coloring Eggs

It wouldn't be Easter without the traditional Easter egg roll! We had plans to get together with my family Saturday night, so Friday night we got the eggs out and colored them. Here the kids are putting the tablets in the water. They loved watching them fizz.

 Brayden LOVED dying the eggs this year now that he's big enough to do it himself.

Sick Girl

Brynlee came down with a fever last week. She ended up having a really bad sore throat. At the same time, of course, her and I both passed thrush back and forth. Not fun for either one of us. I finally took her in to the doctor and within 1 day of having the right medicine, her fever broke, her thrush started disappearing, and she started eating better (which makes sense since her throat was clearing up.) It is definitely not any fun having sick kids. I was putting Brooklyn down for a nap, so I set Brynlee on the boppy to watch Brayden play Mario (she LOVES watching Mario.) When I came back 3 minutes later she was asleep. SO cute I had to take pictures! It looks like she's awake, but she really is asleep. She sleeps with her eyes open quite frequently. After the first flash from the camera, her eyes closed tighter.

6 Months

Brynlee just hit the 6 month mark last week! I can't believe how fast she is growing! She loves to be in any position as long as she's not on her back. So she'll roll over the second I put her down. She LOVES to sit up and play with toys now.  She's trying to crawl and is getting close, but it will still be a few weeks. I can tell she is very determined to get where she wants to go. She continues to be a very happy, calm baby. She rarely cries and just loves to hang out with us. She is VERY curious, however, so we aren't able to sit and relax with her like we used to. Now she always wants to be a part of what's going on. We've started her baby food, but I haven't been the best at being consistent with it. She's had some stomach issues with it, so we're going slow.  Here are her stats:

Brooklyn is way tall and thin, Brayden is short and thin, and she'll be right in the middle...average height and thin.  We feel very blessed to have Bryn in our family and love watching her grow and develop. We love you Brynlee!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

My mom invited us to the Easter egg hunt at their clubhouse last Saturday. It was beautifully decorated and the kids had a lot of fun. Unfortunately it was snowing, so they had to move the hunt inside, but it still worked out ok. Here are the kids decorating their bags:

 Brooklyn's age group went first. It took her a minute to realize that she needed to get all her eggs first, then open them up. She wanted to open them all as she picked them up.

 I was SO excited to get pictures with the Easter bunny this early. Now I don't have to stress about finding one the day before Easter. I was shocked Brooklyn sat on his lap. It only worked because Brayden hopped on first so it helped her stay calm.

 Brayden finally got his turn to look for eggs. All the kids went down the other hall, so he was by himself with about 100 eggs in this area. They asked that each kid only take 10, so he didn't have trouble getting his 10 quickly.

They had a delicious dessert table. The kids got their fair share of sugar. Here they are eating some cupcakes:

 Justin showed up with Paige after most everything was done. We saved a bag and eggs for her, so it was fun to hide them for her when she got there. These 3 then spent @ 20 minutes running around the halls playing. They are SO fun to watch!

 Thanks mom for the invite!!! It will now be a yearly tradition we'll look forward to going to!

Sitting Up

 Brynlee is getting really good at sitting up. She still will face plant if she tries to grab something at an angle. But she's getting better! I'll do a better update soon when she hits 6 months. But I had to throw in this cute picture!

3 Peas in a Pod

It's been a lot of fun lately now that Brynlee is doing a lot more. The kids are really enjoying playing with her. We were doing some tummy time the other day and Brayden and Brooklyn wanted to join in on the fun. So of course I had to grab my camera!

 I love their individual expressions in this photo. I'm curious as to what each of them were thinking.

 I had to throw this picture in. Brynlee is getting really close to crawling. She's in the process of figuring out she can scoot. She's also trying to hold herself up with her arms now. It's only a matter of time!
