It's always fun to do the local competitions that aren't conventions. The girls get to relax a little bit and not worry about classes and scholarships and they just get to dance and have fun. Only Britney Brooklyn's teams (she's on the high school team) went to this competition but the other girls wanted to do their solos as well. It was across the street from my mom's house so my mom and my aunt Cindy were able to come and watch the solos. Josh was able to come as well!
The girls killed it! They all danced their solos so beautifully and I was brought to tears many times. Brielle won the High Intermediate division as well as was awarded Miss Amplify for the Junior age group. Miss Amplify is an extra award that you have to pay an extra fee to be eligible. I remembered from this comp last year that they did this so I went ahead and paid for my girls to be eligible but never told them about it. The look on Brielle's face when they called her name was worth every penny. It was such a neat experience to watch her get recognized...and receive $200, a Lulu lemon belt bag, a free solo next year, and a beautiful crown!
Britney won the advanced mini division and also won the high mini score of the comp. She also was awarded the Miss Amplify award! Such a good day for these girls!
It was so fun to have Brooklyn with us this weekend. We have all missed having her at these comps and she loved helping get the younger girls ready and supporting them.
Oh...and ya I injured my back last night. I should be flat on my back for 3 days but I didn't want to miss the girls compete since I was in Mexico last weekend and missed their comp. My dr said the only way to do it was to use a walker bc I can't stand up straight. So it was rough weekend trying to manage the pain while supporting the girls.
