Drill State

State Championships! It all leads up to this competition. This has been a really hard year with a coach that had never run a drill team before. There were lots of tears and frustrations but the girls came prepared to leave it all out on the floor.  And they did. Unfortunately it wasn't the outcome we had hoped for but we are still proud of this team for fighting to the end and taking 2nd. For where they were a month ago you wouldn't have guessed they would place that high. But they worked and worked on their routines and did a fantastic job. Brooklyn was one of the leaders of the team and ended up having a lot of the solo parts in their dance routine. She nailed her solo turn and helped lead their team to high marks. Good job Brooklyn!  We are so proud of you!

Minerette State Mirrors

Another Minerette tradition the week of state. The moms all got together and helped decorate the mirrors in the dance room. The girls always love coming in and seeing the different mirrors for each of their dances.

Minerette State Dinner

Every year the Minerettes do a dinner the week before state. I can't believe that Brooklyn is a senior and it was our turn to attend the banquet. It was neat to sit with Brooklyn and watch her he recognized for her 3 years. The dads all had a turn to talk about their daughters and it was a neat and touching moment they got to share.

State Door

I first thought this was a weird tradition that took too much time. But after I hung up Brooklyn's door for her first year as a Minerette I fell in love with the tradition. I love that she leaves it up all year until I do the next one. We always design it around their show routine theme and this year they are Sirens. It turned out so cool and Brooklyn loved it!

Cousins

It's always fun to run into cousins randomly. Brooklyn went to the state championship competition for cheer and ran into Sadie who goes to Lehi high school. So fun!

Sojo Dance Co Concert

Brynlee had her winter dance co concert. She was able to choreograph 2 of the numbers and they were incredible. Being able to choreograph is not easy and usually either you can do it or you can't. I had no idea Brynlee was able to choreograph as well as she did. Her pieces were beautiful and definitely the best numbers of the whole show. Good job Brynlee!

Intrigue-Greenville SC

Let the dance convention season begin! We've never been to SC before and Britney and I fell in love with Greenville! The location of the competition was in a beautiful area that reminded me of Main Street in Park City. It was fun to be able to go out and walk the streets and experience a little of the area (normally we don't even leave the hotel). Brit had a great time and worked hard assisting all weekend.
