Brooklyn has been SO excited to get her cast off. The day finally came and we headed out to Primary Children's to meet with her surgeon. The x rays looked great and they quickly started cutting away the cast.
After the cast came off it was time to pull out the pins. They asked if I wanted to watch, and since I was curious I said yes. I've never had a problem with blood or anything like that so I never thought I would have any issues. They pulled the huge pins out and then I started talking to her surgeon. I started getting light headed, which was making me mad, so I sat down (while still holding Brielle) and continued talking to the doctor. My whole body started going numb, which was still making me mad that I couldn't control it, so I finally set the baby on the floor and told them I wasn't feeling well. Luckily I set the baby down in time to black out. The nurse and surgeon caught me, had Brooklyn hop off the table, and had me lie down on the table. Awesome. I was SO embarrassed! I have NEVER done that before. I never even get queasy when I see blood or needles. They said it happens ALL the time when the pins are pulled out, especially watching your own child. So once I was feeling better they got Brooklyn wrapped up and we were on our way!
