It's been a pretty emotional week knowing that Samantha's birthday was coming up. Last year Brooklyn and Samantha had a combined birthday party and we had planned on doing that many times over the years. Sean and Rachelle stopped by in the morning and we got to sit and chat with them for a bit. After school we wrote notes to Sammie on address labels. We then put them on balloons and went to visit Samantha's grave.
They were hoping to have her headstone in place by her birthday, but it's not quite done yet.
This was Brynlee's face when we told her it was time to let the balloons go. For some reason it freaked her out and she ran and hid behind the van. She refused to look up in the air at our balloons as they floated away. We thought it was hilarious. We finally convinced her the next day to let go of the balloon in the backyard.

We miss Samantha SO much and it is still hard to face the reality that she's not here. It's hard to watch Sean and Rachelle continue to deal with their loss. We love you Sammie and miss you! Happy birthday!
