NRG Nationals - Days 2 & 3

Brielle's solo and duo day! Brielle has such a beautiful solo this year and she has grown so much. She did a great job and her and Cora were amazing in their duo as well! The girls also started classes and loved them! The teachers have so much energy and the girls get to just dance and have fun. Britney is on stage as a Prodigy and is loving every minute of it. Britney also had her Prodigy auditions and killed it! It's so fun to watch her thrive and improve every day. The house we are staying at is amazing and the girls are having a blast with the private pools and hot tubs.

 

NRG Nationals - Day 1

Ready or not here we go! Britney is an NRG Prodigy so she is competing this week for the title of National Prodigy. She kicked off the week with her solo competition bright and early at 7am. She did great! Brynlee also had her solo today and she was AMAZING! So so good! We ended the night with the alien party. We weren't sure if it would be lame or not and we were. pleasantly surprised with how awesome it was! The girls had a great time!

*Neat story I don't want to forget. Brynlee and Delaney have danced together for many years. They are both very competitive and are both equally amazing dancers. It's impossible for them both to win and one of them usually walks away disappointed. But these 2 show up for each other. I've never seen a healthier, competitive relationship. When Delaney won the Intrigue apprentice jacket over brynlee, Brynlee was the first one to give her hugs. She was genuinely so happy for her even though she walked out in tears. When Brynlee won the Intrigue True Performer jacket over Delaney you bet she was one of the first to hug and congratulate Brynlee. I love watching them rise above the normal feelings towards a competitor and love each other and root for each other. After Delaney finished her solo she could hardly breathe and she collapsed on the floor. Brynlee immediately laid down next to her and helped her catch her breath and coached her while she calmed down. I loved it and I can't help but get emotional every time I look at the picture.

 

NRG Nationals - The Drive

Since we are going to 2 Nationals (one in California and one in Florida) we decided to save money and drive to California. We drove down with Jessica and her two girls...Brooklyn and Evelyn. Our first stop stop was down in St. George to have dinner and swim with our dance friends that have a house down there. It was a great way to break up the drive. After swimming we headed out to drive to Las Vegas for the night. Jessica has a brother that lives there that let us stay at their house.

 

Nationals Send Off Party

The girls look forward to this every year! We all got together for a party to get ready for Nationals. The girls work so hard all year and this is a reward for them!

Lake Powell

Josh and I were invited to do the food for Bryce's Lake Powell Work Retreat. We got to stay on his 5 million dollar houseboat, cook food for everyone, and enjoy the beautiful Lake. It really was amazing.
