Drill Nationals - Competition

I didn’t realize how much this trip would affect the girls and us parents. It did everything it needed to and more…it healed broken hearts, pushed them emotionally and physically, and reminded these girls why they do what they do. These girls bounced back from state and put their whole hearts into this competition. Their 3 comp routines took 1st, 1st, and 2nd and two of those routines were invited back to dance in the battle during the awards night. Both of those routines took 1st place in their respective battles! It was amazing to see an entire arena cheer for any and all teams. The crowd respected the art of dance and supported anything impressive no matter who you were. Bingham definitely left their mark at this competition with many teams wanting pics with the girls, asking to follow them on IG, and complimenting them for mastering and sharing their passion. I’ll never forget what it felt like to have an entire arena erupt and cheer for them during the battle and when they won.

Besides the dance competition we spent 3.5 days at Disney parks. It was fun to hang out with the girls and parents and just enjoy being together. Such a fun and exhausting week!

 

Jazz Meet and Greet

Josh was invited to attend a meet and greet with the Jazz players at Fat Cats. It was fun for the girls to get some autographs, play some arcades, and eat. Of course we looked more like Bingham supporters than Jazz fans bc we just came from the drill comp, but it was fun. Brynlee even got to play an arcade game with one of the players so that was a lot of fun for her. 

 

State Drill Competition

I used to roll my eyes would I would hear of all the things that were done for the drill team…decorating doors, mirrors, gifts, dinners, etc.

I am taking back every eye roll.

There is absolutely nothing I wouldn’t do for Brooklyn or these girls on the drill team. I’ve been blown away by the amount of hours they put in this year and the level of intensity they have. They worked so hard, overcame many struggles, and kept that intensity all year long. They left everything on the dance floor and hit 3 solid routines at state, and although they didn’t win we are all so proud of what they accomplished this year. Congrats Brooklyn on an amazing year!!

 

Birds!

The birds have been crazy this year. They are everywhere and there are SO SO many. It's crazy to watch them fly together and the different shapes they make in the sky. 

 

State Mirrors

Parents came late last night to decorate all the mirrors in the dance room for the drill girls. When they got to practice at 6am this morning they got to go in and check them out. It's a Minerette tradition and so much fun to see all the pics from their routines.
