I knew when we decided to go to nationals that Britney had a good shot at winning assistant again...which made the decision even harder bc I wasn't sure if I was ready for another year traveling with her. Ultimately I made the decision to come bc Brynlee wanted one last shot at getting assistant. She knew it was a long shot but she has worked SO hard and put every part of herself into it that we thought she had a chance. Unfortunately this year was one of the strongest teen years they've seen so the competition was extremely tough. She still danced her heart out, which just made the heart ache that much harder. My heart shattered to watch her deal with the discouragement and disappointment of not getting it. And of course it's even harder to watch your sister get chosen have that experience right in front of you. The joy/pain I felt that night was almost unbearable and I struggled hiding the tears. That being said we are SO proud and excited for Britney! This really has become her family and teachers and staff just love her. She has a natural love for people and they all feel it. Everyone knows Britney and she walks around Intrigue with everyone wanting to come up and hug her and say hi. Even Brynlee made the comment "it's almost annoying how she knows everyone!" Good job Britney! We are excited to watch you grow this year and have an amazing year!
