We woke up early again to catch our ride for our excursion. This was the day I was looking forward to the most. This time we weren't on a bus, we were on more of a safari type vehicle so it wasn't enclosed. It was fun, although very bumpy. We drove for about an hour to get to the place where we did all of our high adventure activities. We started with the horse back riding. We stayed together as a group but it was fun to ride through such beautiful areas. After we were done riding the horses we headed over to the zip lining course. There were about 7 towers and it was SO fun! We ended up in line with a couple from New York. The guy was a little larger and terrified of heights...not just scared but deathly afraid. It was fun to be with them and help talk him through it. And he did it! We were all shocked he actually jumped but he did!
After we were done zip lining we headed to another yummy lunch, then on to our final activity. There is a slot canyon that has 27 waterfalls from the top to the bottom. The hike up was brutal. We hiked uphill for 45 min to get to the 12th waterfall. We had to stop a few times for people in our group to catch their breath bc it wash a hard hike. But once we got to the 12th waterfall we suited up and got ready to come down them. We either jumped, slid, or hiked down all 12 of the waterfalls. It was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. It was beautiful and so thrilling...there's no way it would be legal in the US. lol. However it was very safe and the guides did a great job helping each person in our group down to the bottom. We found out while we were there that you can go all the way to the 27th waterfall (2 hr hike uphill) and hike down the waterfalls. We would've done it in a heartbeat had we had one more day. But the 12 were breathtaking and totally worth it. It cooled off by the time we got to the bottom so we were pretty chilly and it started raining as we left. Which would be fine except that our safari truck was not enclosed. But we finally made it back to our resort, cleaned up, and headed to the Mexican restaurant for dinner. The service took forever, but the food was incredible. By far our favorite so far.
