Hawaii - Day 5

I had been waiting for this day for months. Dolphins are my favorite animal, and swimming with them was the one thing I wanted to do on this trip. We had to decide if we wanted to swim with them at an actual park or facility, or swim with them in the wild. We easily decided to swim with them in the wild. We can swim with them at a park anywhere, but not often do you have the opportunity to swim in the ocean with them. We caught the shuttle van and headed to the Wainae area for our excursion. We hopped on a boat that took us about 20 minutes up the shore line where the spinner dolphins are. We watched the pods of dolphins everywhere around us. They would take us by boat and drop us off in front of an approaching pod and let us snorkel as the dolphins swam by around us and under us. It was fascinating. We saw SO many dolphins everywhere. You could hear them as well. We loved it. We spent about 1 1/2 hrs doing that, then we headed over to a reef where sea turtles are. We got to snorkel the beautiful reef and watch sea turtles for about 45 minutes before heading back. It was amazing. SO much fun! We bought the cd of the pictures from the photographer that came with us. I had a waterproof camera and will post those pictures when I get around to loading them.
After the excursion we rested at the hotel, then decided to order pizza again and watch another movie. Being pregnant I could only walk and do so much before I started cramping so we had to be sure to take it easy...not a hard thing to do in Hawaii!
