Easter

I love that the kids still enjoy this holiday even though they are getting older. Our ward put on a wonderful sacrament meeting full of music and spoken words. We did our traditional egg hunt after church, slept all afternoon, then went to the Ericson's for the evening. 

 

Battle of the Best

Both of Brynlee's teams were invited to compete in the Battle of the Best. They did a great job and it was a lot of fun!

 

Student of the Month

Each teacher at the middle school has the opportunity to choose one student to be student of the month at some point during the year. Brynlee was chosen by the dance teacher. They had a nice breakfast and then the teachers that chose students for the month talked about that student and presented them with the award. It was a nice morning and we are so proud of Brynlee!

 

High School Musical

Brielle's show dance this year was a song from High School Musical. They are at that age where they are obsessed with the show and everything about it. I thought it would be fun to take the girls up to East High and tour the school and take pics. We also had them bring their costumes so they could record their dance in the school. It was such a fun afternoon and the girls were on cloud 9. Britney was invited to be in this dance even though she isn't on the team, so I loved having both of them there or this excursion.

 

LA Dance Magic

Another dance convention. Britney was the first solo of the day. When we showed up they hadn't opened the convention center yet but luckily I came prepared! I put mats in the back of our Tahoe so Britney could stretch and take a nap after her solo if needed.  Of course she was fine but I laid back down and took a quick nap. I got rides for the other girls down for their solos so they could go to school until they had to leave. They did great on their solos! Brynlee took 9th overall and Britney took 3rd in her category. Brynlee and Britney were made the final round of auditions and Britney ended up getting the Magic Performer of the Week! It's the top scholarship! Overall we didn't love the convention bc the scheduling was awful (super early mornings and really late nights) but they still worked hard and had a good time.
