Preschool Mother's Day Program

Brooklyn's preschool class had a cute Mother's day program. They sang song, talked about their moms, and gave us pictures they had drawn. It was adorable and I loved every minute of it!

Brooklyn and her teacher Miss Tricia:

Yes...there are only 3 kids in her class. I was bothered by it when we started and considered putting her in the earlier class that had more kids. I finally decided that for Brooklyn it would be best to have more one on one time with the teacher and she has loved it. She has always been very smart, so it wasn't because of that. At home with 3 kids she doesn't get much undivided attention, so being able to get that at school has been a great thing for her.

One Month

Can't believe one month has gone by already. Brielle is pretty much a perfect baby...she still hasn't cried yet. She is quiet, happy, and loves to just chill with us. I tried to put her on a normal sleep schedule, but Brielle has decided to join her sister Brynlee and the other 5-10% of babies that don't follow the traditional sleep, eat, awake pattern all day. She groups all her awake time together, which ends up giving us 1 nap a day that lasts 6 hrs. So she is awake from 11-2, then sleeps from 2-8 (with me feeding her at 5), then is awake from 8-12:30. She goes to bed with us just after midnight and sleeps until 11 (with me feeding her about every 4-5 hours.) I love it. She is SO content being awake that long it surprises everyone that sees her during her awake times. The one problem we have been dealing with is her reflux. We have to try Zantac for 6 weeks before the insurance will cover Prevacid...my reflux medicine of choice. The Zantac helps but isn't great. She is also very sensitive with what I eat, so for the first time I've had to cut out chocolate, tomatoes, garlic, fried foods, etc. But it's worth it to have her feel better!

Moving

Josh's decided it was time to sale their house. It ended up selling in 3 days. By the time the inspection was done and they knew it was going to go through they had 2-3 weeks to be out of the house. Josh ended up helping almost every night for weeks. With a newborn at home it was not easy...feeling like a single mom. But his help was needed...every minute of it. One of the last nights I took the kids over so we could take a few pics and say our "goodbyes" to the house. Here are our last pics:

Because the house sold so fast, they didn't have enough time to find somewhere to move into...so they moved into our basement. I was a little nervous about trying to accomodate them, but it has worked out and the kids have been loving it!

Little Muddy Mess

Michael and Natalie came over one evening and we sent the kids outside to play. We heard Mckinsley crying so we looked out and noticed she had become stuck in the mud. Brynlee, who had no shoes on went right over to her and started walking around in the mud. Awesome. While Natalie was trying to help Mckinsley, our dog would not stop jumping on her. So I went to put the dog away. Next thing I knew Brynlee had decided she needed to clean her feet. So she tracked mud through the kitchen and to the sink. I guess I should be impressed with how independent she is and was determined to take care of it herself. I was not thrilled, however, to clean up and mop my floor!

Just Chillin'

What do you do when you need to blow dry your hair and you don't want to go get the bouncer? You put the baby in the sink of course!

Boxes

What do you do with a huge box that our storm door came in? Turn it into a slide of course!!! The girls loved it. The only way for them to get up the stairs was to climb through the railing...totally against our rules. But for today it was allowed!

Sink Bath

For some reason it always seems easier to bathe our babies in the sink. Brielle loved it!
