6 Months!!!

Time keeps flying by for us. Brookyln hit 6 months last week and is such a joy to have in our home. She has a sweet and fun personality and adores her older brother. She loves sweet potatoes, carrots, and all the fruits, but hates squash. She loves to splash in the tub, play "get you" with Brayden, and is always all smiles. She is almost crawling. Right now she scoots across the floor on her head, but is trying to hold herself up on her arms. We love you Brooklyn!
Here are her stats:
Weight - 15lbs 7 oz (40%)
Height - 26.5 inches (75%)

The Mayan & The Jazz

On Saturday we went to the Mayan for dinner with the Trimbles. Although the food still isn't the greatest, we had a lot of fun. Brayden and Jaxon loved watching the divers. We sat at the very top right in the middle and it was great.
Claire and Brooklyn are starting to interact a lot more. It's fun to see them playing together.

Here's Brayden watching the diving show.
After dinner the girls went back to our place and the boys all went to the Jazz game. Jaxon and Brayden did surprisingly well, although Brayden asked to go home at half time. But they made it! Here are Jaxon and Brayden in their jerseys after the game.

First Walk

The weather has been quite nice lately, so we decided to take advantage. Last Friday after the kids woke up from their naps we bundled up and headed out. Of course by the time we got outside it was 5:30, so it didn't take long to become chilly. I forgot how much quicker the day goes by when we are able to go outside. The kids loved it and everyday since Brayden has climbed in the stroller and asked to go for a walk. I can't wait until Spring!!!

Mmm...Sweet Potatoes!

Brooklyn loves to eat. I try so hard to keep her clean while I feed her, and most of the time I am successful. This day, however, was not so great. And as soon as I could see that all my efforts were failing, I let her enjoy making a mess. I love this picture because I think she looks like a pirate with her beard and eyebrow.

Ouch!

The other day we were out in the lobby looking at the firetruck in front of our complex. Our upstairs neighbor pulled up and started coming in. Brayden is scared of this neighbor so he took off running back inside. He tripped and his head slammed into the door frame. We were very lucky that it didn't split open.

On a side note, we had to call poison control last week for the first time. Brayden had dragged his little table down the hall and found some leave-in treatment for hair. When he wouldn't respond to me calling his name (I was feeding Brooklyn) I went and found him in the bedroom with his mouth full of the stuff. He spit it out but I wasn't sure if he had ingestsed any before I found him. Since there was nothing about swallowing it on the bottle, I called poison control and they said we should be fine. And yes, he was bouncing off the walls within minutes. It is very comforting to know that that service is available. They even called back an hour later to make sure he was still ok! (This picture was taken about a month ago. The little sneak! He drags that table without it making a sound!)

The Twins' B-day

On Sunday, the 15th, we went to the Ericson's to celebrate Rachael and Jacob's 19th b-day. We had a yummy homemade Cafe Rio dinner and Marie Calendar pies. It was a lot of fun to see Rachael all weekend before she left back to St. George.

After church we decided to try the photo shoot again. The kids looked so cute in their red and black I couldn't resist. Unfortunately, once again they didn't cooperate. Brooklyn was all smiles, but Brayden wasn't a fan. Oh well...we tried.

While I was changing Brooklyn, Brayden said he wanted to take more pictures laying on the couch. I was shocked he wanted to take more, so we quickly grabbed them both and snapped away. We tried putting Brooklyn on Brayden's back. It was really cute, but Brooke fell off right as I took the picture.
Since Brooklyn couldn't stay on Brayden's back, we switched them. It was really cute but I didn't take the picture in time. Brayden was done.

Valentine's Day

This year for Valentine's Day we decided to save money, stay home, and enjoy the day as a family. I made Josh's favorite breakfast, crepes w/ strawberries, then we played with the kids until naptime. The kids both took a great nap, as did Josh. We piled in the car and went shopping for b-day presents for Josh's brother and sister. We ended up at the Ericson's where they had made salmon and baked potatoes for dinner. We hung out with them and played games all night. Although we didn't do anything special, we had a wonderful day.

The pictures are of our attempt at a quick photo shoot with the kids. They did not cooperate.
