BYU Game

Since it's Brayden's birthday tomorrow and we had an extra ticket to the BYU game we decided to let him invite a friend to the game. His basketball buddy Jason came with us and they had a blast. We stopped at teriyaki grill for dinner on the way home then Brayden hung out with friends for the evening. Yes...he has finally hit that stage where he would rather be with his friends than his family on Saturday night lol.

Bingham Ball

Brayden's first dance! You would think we would be totally on top of it, but when we realized Brayden needed a new suit it got a little stressful. I ordered 4 suits and they all came 1-2 days before the dance. Unfortunately none of them fit so we were out of luck. On Saturday Shyann picked him up in the morning for the day date and they went bowling. As soon as Brayden got home we headed to the Men's Warehouse to find a suit and I had no idea they would be so expensive! He's in the middle of growing so I wasn't thrilled to spend $300 on a suit he would grow out of in a few months. But of course nothing fit him. We had 3 workers trying to find him something that would work when I noticed a black jacket on the clearance rack. It fit perfectly! All the workers were shocked we found one that fit. They rang it up and it was a $180 jacket that rang up for $10. Ummmm what?! No one could believe it. They found a pair of junior pants in the back that they didn't think they had and we walked out of there having spent $40 for a suit that should've lost $250. It was crazy and he looks SO good in it! Shyann picked him up and they went back to her house for dinner and pictures. Then they hopped on the party bus they rented and cruised around town for a couple of hours, stopped at the dance, then hung out on the bus as long as they could before they had to return it. They then spent the rest of the evening at one of the girl's houses to finish off the day. Brayden had the best time with Shyann and we loved hearing all about it and seeing all the fun pics.

Celebrating Brayden's Birthday

I struggled trying to come up with ideas of how to celebrate Brayden's 16th birthday. He didn't want a party, but I wasn't ok with that lol. So after the blue and white game we invited everyone that could come over for pizza and donuts to celebrate. We weren't sure how many would come but come they did. Lol. They took over the house and played all night. And next thing we knew this little get together turned into a teenage party with girls showing up and playing outside and inside. It was a lot of fun but definitely a glimpse into what it will be like for the next 10 years of teenagers having parties!

Bingham 3 Point Contest

Bingham had their blue and white game on Friday night where the freshman play the sophomores and the JV play the Varsity teams. They also do a few contests throughout the evening including the 3 point contest. They choose one representative from each grade and Brayden was chosen to represent the sophomores (he had to do a shoot out with a few other sophomores that wanted to do it as well and he beat each of them). They first had the sophomore rep go against the Junior rep and Brayden won. Then they had the Varsity rep play against the Freshman rep and the Varsity player one. Then they had the Varsity rep and Brayden go against each other and Brayden won!! 17-15 with the Varsity player barely missing the tying shot at the end. Later in the evening Brayden went up against the winner of the girls contest. Last year the girl winner beat the boy winner...which resulted in the players shaving his head and giving him a hard time all year. So it was a big deal to beat the girl winner this year. And he did! He smoked her and easily beat her 17-12. It was so much fun to watch Brayden do his thing and have the whole basketball team cheering for him. It helped convince me that bringing him to school at 6am every morning to practice shooting with their shooting gun has been worth it!

Putting up Christmas

I don't have many Thanksgiving decorations so I wanted to get Christmas all set up before we had everyone over. The girls loved helping set everything up while we watched the Santa Clause movie. I can't wait for all the fun things we will be doing this Christmas season!

WFG Event

Josh's boss held his annual event and asked Josh to speak for 30 minutes. We were up quite late trying to put the power point presentation together and I also spent the morning working on it. He did such a good job and he got a lot of compliments from people that really felt inspired by the stories he shared. Josh is such a good public speaker...I hope he gets a lot more opportunities like this to help inspire and motivate other people.

Crazy Hair Day

I swear I never find out about crazy hair day until the morning of. Luckily we still had our Halloween stuff around so we were able to quickly color Brit's hair so she could participate.
