Las Vegas

Josh had his annual WFG convention in Las Vegas the same week as girls camp. Luckily we worked it out so that I could be at girls camp Mon-Wed and come home Wednesday night after testimony meeting so we could fly out early Thursday morning. We attended the convention all day Thursday and Friday (yes we had to sit at the very top of the arena so I could lay down bc of my back. So fun.) Ironically Justin and Ali were also in Vegas with their family so on Saturday we hooked up with them and went to lunch and a magic show before we caught our flight home. 

 

Bed Swing!

I've been working on this project for a while now. I knew when I built the house I wanted a place to relax outside on the deck. It is so quiet and peaceful out there I wanted to be able to comfortably enjoy it. It took me over a year to find the swing and I finally bought it. The girls all helped me stain it, but then it sat on the ground on the deck for a few weeks. Luckily our tech guy was here installing our security cameras and offered to help us hang it. An hour later I have my swing! I still need to pick out the colors and pillows and stuff but at least we can start enjoying it.

 

Swim Party

The girls invited some friends over to swim. They are loving the lily pad and haven't stopped playing on it.

 

Dance Hangover

What a week the girls and I had in Florida. We made it home safely and then we crashed hard. The kids played games and relaxed all day. It was fun to find all the girls at various times asleep in various positions. In the evening we went to see my sister perform in the play The Music Man. Not going to lie...it was hard staying awake after such a long week and a long travel day getting home. But we all enjoyed the play and most of us stayed awake for it lol.

 

Brit Part 2

Brit loves attention and making people laugh. So she has no problem deciding that the size 12 panda pajamas are now hers and she doesn't care that they are ginormous on her. 

 

Brit

This girl continues to bring so much joy to everyone around her. She is the perfect caboose in our family, but rather than being treated like the baby of the family where everything is done for her she is treated like she is twice her age and is expected to pretty much take care of herself lol. She is little miss independent and has been making her own lunches since kindergarten...our own little Matilda. I love when I catch her doing things way too grown up for her...like making a pb/honey sandwich. 

The other pics are outside Walmart. We were inside shopping when we heard the rain start and it was SO loud inside the store. Brielle and Britney wanted to go see the rain so we left our cart and ran outside. Britney immediately ran right in the rain and didn't care about getting wet. She definitely keeps us smiling!

 

Trek

Brayden and Brooklyn have been getting ready for trek for a few months with our ward. Brayden was excited to go, but Brooklyn hasn't been thrilled that we were making her go. It has been a crazy month and we've been extremely busy, so getting ready for trek was kind of a lower priority.  But we finally got around to it and got all the clothes and items they needed to go. They loved it! Even Brooklyn had a hard time admitting that she had fun and enjoyed it. 

And yes Brayden was a pirate pioneer lol. He was shooting hoops in our gym the day before trek and felt something in his eye. He tried everything to get it out and nothing worked. I even tried everything I could think of to flush it out and still couldn't get it out. Luckily Brielle's eye doctor was able to squeeze us in since Brayden was going on trek. Turns out he got a piece of metal that impaled in his eye. So rare and odd. We think when he was lowering the hoop a piece of metal shavings from the backboard got in his eye. It was pretty deep but luckily the eye dr was able to get it out and got us some antibiotics. He was actually thrilled to have to wear an eye patch for trek and owned it! I was a little nervous sending him on a windy, dusty experience but the trek doctor took care of him and made sure it didn't get infected.
