Cabin Trip - Days 1 & 2

We had the best cabin trip! It was SO much fun and the kids did great the whole time. We invited the Allmans and the Tuckers. We headed up on Thursday evening. We brought Raygan with us since all the other kids would have a friend their age. I brought a lot of new things for the kids to do...bubbles, ring toss, frisbee golf, air soft guns (such a hit for the boys!), and rock painting. Oh my word...who would've known that painting rocks would be the best activity ever! I bought little dotting tools and brought a ton of paint. The girls seriously painted the entire weekend. Hours and hours were spent finding rocks, washing, them, then painting them. By the time we left we had the coolest looking rock garden!

Dinner with the Binks

We invited the Binks over for dinner. We love hanging out with them, especially bc the kids play so well together. They played in the hot tub, did lots of bubbles, and of course we had to do s'mores again!

Not Broken...But Broken

Such a long day for this little cutie. She woke up crying quite a bit so I immediately scheduled a visit at my doctor's office. They are set up to do everything like an instacare...without all the waiting and expensive copays. So we saw the pediatrician there and got x-rays. She didn't see any fractures so she told us most likely she dislocated the elbow but it popped right back in . She sent us home to just be careful. I wasn't totally convinced about that so as soon as we got back in the car I wrapped it back up like we had it and headed home. She did pretty good at home, although she wouldn't move her arm much and complained about how much it was hurting. Well we got a call in the evening from the doctor and it turns out that the radiologist looked over the x-rays and found a fracture. I knew it! I hated that I was right but in my gut I just felt like it was not ok. They did a half cast and we will decide in 7-10 days if she needs a hard cast or if the half cast will be ok. My mom was so sad to hear that she got hurt so she stopped by and brought her a little beanie boo lady bug. So cute!

Independence Day - Part 2

While everyone stayed at the Ericson's I headed out with Brayden to save seats at the parade. We spent A LOT of time walking, setting up chairs, then moving the chairs until we found the perfect spot. And yes it really was THE best spot. It was shaded by the trees the whole time and it was near the beginning of the parade when all the people throwing candy were super excited to throw candy...so we got lots. All the Ericsons came and it was a lot of fun for all the cousins to watch the floats go by. After the parade everyone scattered to do their own thing for the evening. We ended up going back to the Ericson's to eat a little bit of dinner until it was time to load up to head back to Sandy for the fireworks. We were loading up the van and Britney was throwing a little animal back and forth with Steve when she fell out of the van and landed on her arm. We could tell she was hurting pretty bad bc of how hard she was crying. She wouldn't move her arm and it hurt when she squeezed my finger. All the instacares were closed already bc of the holiday and we didn't think it was serious enough to go to the ER so we ended up just heading over to the fireworks. We brought ice with us and tried to keep it on her arm as much as we could. She cried the whole way until we got her laying down on the blankets. She finally cheered up a little bit and we all enjoyed the fireworks. As soon as we had to pick her up to put her back in the wagon (thank heavens we brought the wagon!) she started crying again. Poor thing! What a sad way to end such a fun day! We got everyone home and in bed. With a dose of Ibuprofen Britney was able to fall asleep and luckily slept through the night. We were all exhausted!

Independence Day - Part 1

This is one of my favorite holidays bc of all the fun things we get to do all day. We started out with the neighborhood bike parade and breakfast. The kids loved riding in the parade and we all loved eating breakfast with all the neighbors. Afterwards we relaxed at home for a little bit then headed to the Ericson's. We had a yummy bbq lunch, the kids played on the slip n slide, and we got ready for the rest of the festivities!

Bike Decorating

We have the neighborhood bike parade tomorrow morning, so the girls spent the evening decorating their bikes. I bought a bunch of bows and streamers and they went nuts! Brooklyn even duct taped a bubble machine to the back of hers.

Caught Ya!

I found Brielle drawing all over Britney...something they do quite often. You can tell she wasn't bothered that I caught her doing it. She just continued on with her art project.
