BYU Game

Sometimes the stars align and you get what you want. And tonight a lot of stars aligned. We knew we would be driving down from the cabin to go to the BYU game but we weren't sure if it would work out for Brayden to go. The stake president gave us permission to take Brayden bc it happened to be on his assigned P day. He was stoked. As the second quarter started Andrew ended up with 4 passes to go down on the field until half time. What??? So we took turns going down onto the field which was awesome. Brayden was able to stay the whole time...you know...bc he's leaving for 2 years. They scored 4 touchdowns right in front of where we were! It was awesome. Brayden also recognized Richie Saunders in the stands and went and said hi. Richie plays basketball for BYU. Brayden was asked to conduct a fireside that Richie spoke at. So they talked a bit before and after the fireside and he recognized Brayden! It was fun to watch them have that moment. Oh...and BYU won. So it was a great night!

 

Cabin Trip

Brayden really wanted to go to the cabin one last time this summer but we were so busy and out of town most weekends. We decided it would work to go while Brayden was doing home MTC bc he could do his online classes from the cabin. It was a lot of fun to spend time together playing games, hiking, and just talking. And yes...I cried multiple times. Love this crew we have.

 

Backyard Ball

Now that Brayden is a missionary he is stuck with just the family to hang out with lol. Tonight the kid's played their last game of church ball. 

 

Elder Ericson

Brayden got set apart and is officially a missionary! It was a quick meeting with the Stake President but he gave him a neat blessing and now Brayden starts home MTC in the morning!

 

Back 2 Dance Party

Karyn and I are in charge of the Back 2 Dance night every year. This year our theme was "Girls Night Out" and it was SO much fun! The teams all showed up in matching pjs, they decorated eye masks and posters, made up a runway walk, and had a dance party. It really was so much fun!

 

Brayden’s Last Boating

As soon as Brooklyn and the girls were done with dance we headed up to Jordanelle for Brayden's last boating outing. Ruby came and we enjoyed one last afternoon together at the lake. It was a little chilly but fine until the storm rolled in. Every boat decided to leave at the same time so it took over an hour to get the boat off the lake. It poured and poured on us. Thank heavens the dock worker had compassion on me bc I parked in a reserved stall and he let me stay even though he was supposed to turn me away. We hung out in the dock stall until Josh's turn to back up down the ramp so we could pull the boat out. And of course the 10 minutes of pulling the boat out of the water and getting it all covered was the 10 min that the rain poured the hardest. Definitely made for some memories but I can't say they were great memories. 

 

Astra Walk

Another year. Another Astra Walk in memory of Astra Waller who was a Minerette that died from cystic fibrosis. 

 

Gentri

As soon as I heard that Gentri was doing a Broadway show I bought tickets. I LOVE Gentri and I LOVE Broadway music so it was the perfect combo. The Brauns came with us and we had a wonderful evening!

 

Another “First” Halftime

Brooklyn had another football game and was able to actually perform in the halftime. It is fun to see her doing her thing!
