Hiking w/ Friends

Brayden got to spend the whole week enjoying life while me and the girls were in Florida. I sent him a list of fun things I expected him to do...including hiking and petting a goat. I told him to send me pics along the way and he actually did do some of the things I suggested lol. I loved getting the pics from him.

 

Les Miserables

I have been waiting to see this musical for years. I was SO excited when I heard that they were coming to SLC and immediately knew I had to go. Josh gave me tickets for Christmas and I've counted down the days. It was everything I had imagined it to be. I cried multiple times and loved every minute of it. 

 

Florida Send Off Party

This is always one of the favorite activities. Unfortunately, Britney got sick and had to stay home bc she was throwing up. I was so sad that she didn't get to participate. But the rest of the girls had a great time and are all pumped up for Florida!

 

Saratoga Springs Temple Open House

We took the youth to go through the open house for the Saratoga Springs temple. I knew we wouldn't make it back out there as a family so we brought Brielle and Britney along with us so they could experience it as well. It was neat to walk through such a holy place and it was especially humbling to be there as a family. There is no one else I'd rather spend eternity with than this crew. Of course we had to stop for ice cream on the way home.

 

Tournament at the U

Brayden got to play in a tournament up at the U. We weren't able to go watch but luckily one of the moms sent us this pic. Such a great group of boys!

 

Father’s Day

I forgot take pics with the grandpas, but we were able to spend time with my dad as well as Josh's dad today. We also were able to spend time with Josh. We sure love him and I can honestly say he is the best dad. He loves the kids and sacrifices so much to provide them with the life they have. Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads in our life!

 

Notable Moment

Not often, but sometimes the girls have moments where they will help each other without being asked. This was one such moment where Brynlee helped Brielle braid her hair before heading to dance. Love seeing stuff like this.

 

Slip ‘n Slide?

Our slide structure has taken a lot longer than expected to get built. Luckily the kids have been able to jump off of the platforms throughout all the stages of the build, but the slide still isn't usable. So one day we had the idea to put the slip n slide on it and see if that would work. It was fun but didn't last long as it kept slipping down the slide with the kids. However it gave us an idea of how it will be once it's finished and we are getting SO excited!

 

Basketball Tournament

Brayden had a big tournament this weekend. We saw him warming up in the gym so naturally we headed down to help him get ready. Brayden and his team played great! They had some really tough games. One game in particular Brayden was on fire and doing great. He ended up scraping his knee on the sport court flooring and it took a big chunk of skin of his knee. The rest of the game we spent trying to contain the blood while trying not to miss too much game time. Finally during half time we ran down to the trainer's tent and they wrapped it up with enough stuff to keep it from bleeding through so he could finish the game. These kids are tough!

 

Nationals is Coming!

It's starting to get real! The girls are working hard and getting ready for Nationals. Intrigue released the pics of all the Apprentices/True Performers that will be competing against each other for an Assistant position in Florida in a few weeks. It's so fun to have 3 girls that earned this scholarship this past year and will be competing for that assistant position. Brielle has been an apprentice the past 2 years, so now it's Brooklyn, Brynlee, and Britney's turn!

 

Last Team Party

These girls have danced together for years. This year especially has been such a good year and they all have a very special bond. They are all extremely intense, passionate, competitive, and supportive and together the chemistry they have has been mesmerizing. They are being split onto different teams next year so they made sure to have one last team party where they could spend time together, hang out, and cry. Such a special group.

 

Lexi Selfie

The kids can all tell Lexi is getting old and we aren't sure how long she will be with us. They've all made a conscious effort to spend more time with her and have been taking more pictures. We love Lexi and how calm and affectionate she is and can't imagine what life will be like without her.

 

EPIC Drill Camp

First drill camp! Brooklyn has been loving everything about drill and is excited for it to all feel official. She got all her Minerette gear and was excited to head out. Josh and I went to go see the performance they got to do at the end of the camp and it was fun to see her for the first time as a Minerette! They looked awesome!
